Creating an institute for the educational development was Swami Keshwanand's dream and during the british rule he prepared a grand design to achieve it. The educational plant was planted on the ground of sangaria on Aug. 9, 1917 when Bahadur singh Bhobia established a middle school on the ground which was given as charity by Thakur Gopal Singh, 'Panniwali'.

Then from 1932 to Sep. 13, 1972 Swami Keshwanand Ji with his great efforts nourished this plant and the result was a centre of excellence study named 'Gramotthan Vidyapeeth'.

Since 1996, Shri Abhay Singh Ji Chautala has made great efforts for the progress of this institute and the result is three important units-
1. G.V. Home Sc. Women P.G. College, Sangaria
2. G.V. Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangaria
3. S.K.M. Public School, Sangaria (Eng. Medium)

Basically this college was established for the study of B.Sc. (Home Science) but due to need of students, demand of parents and to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order, other important branches have started -
B.A. (from 1998-99)
B.Sc. (Medical Group/Science) (from 2006-07)
BCA (from 2008-09)
B.Com. and B.Sc. Non-Med. (from 2011-12)
M.A. (English Lit.) and M.Sc. (Food & Nut.)

The faculty of the college consists of a rich blend of people with diverse academic background and experience. The college provides all the required facilities for sports and recreation to ensure overall development of every student. During the period of last 16 years our college has made a great success with the help of authority, staff and other employees. I am also proud of my students who are able and intelligent, committed to a high sustained hard work. And what they need is only a little guidance along the path of knowledge. I ensure the students, the parents that our staff, employees will make effort to provide vent to the wealth of ideas and energy available with this endless stream of extremely curious and committed young students.
